Ph.D. Applications Scientist/Production Lead

CRAIC Technologies is searching for a Ph.D. level production lead/applications scientist. CRAIC Technologies people, CRAICees, are more like the operators of Oceans 11 rather than the employees of "The Office". We work together to achieve our goals. We expect you to be skilled, but unlike the Oceans 11 crew, to work well with others. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of backend operations including instrument builds, testing, developing QC procedures, maintaining inventory, purchasing and the development of new technologies. The candidate MUST have a solid understanding of optical spectroscopy. International and domestic travel with extensive customer interaction is required.
  • Ph.D. with emphasis on spectroscopy.
  • Analytical skills with instrument design experience desired. Experimentalist preferred.
  • Good at building precision instrumentation. A lot of us did that at our own graduate schools.
  • Excellent business manners and common sense.
  • Travel required, both domestic and international.
  • Must be neat, organized and have attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds (the weight of our systems). Must be able to push, pull, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Additional language skills are desirable including Korean, Mandarin, etc.

Salary: $85,000 per year.
